Church Building – Zhong Yuan Church

In the year 2005, they were once again in danger of being evicted from their then premises as the owner of the building, a Singaporean, who had so kindly allowed them free use of the place had run into some financial difficulties and had to sell the building.

Faced with no alternative place of worship and a fast ageing leadership, they committed the whole matter unto the Lord, trusting Him to lead them to a permanent promised land. A piece of land was up for sale and inspired by the Holy Spirit, the congregation pooled their resources together and boldly placed a deposit for the land. Soon they were blessed with money contributed by the churches in nearby districts for the balance of the purchase price.

Land bought but by then, they were needless to say, drained of all possible financial resources. They were not in any position to proceed with the construction of the new church building even if it is a simple one storey structure. With barely 3 months to go before they had to leave, they negotiated with the new owner of the existing building who then granted them a further stay of six months.

In early 2006, a team of pastors and believers from Singapore visited this church and having learned of their predicament, prayed about the matter and were then led to assist Zhong Yuan Church in constructing their new place of worship.

Praise the Lord, Zhong Yuan Church has now been worshiping at their permanent place of worship for the past two years. With permanence, the church leadership began to embark upon more outreach program and visitations and now membership of the church has grown to more than half their original size with more and more, younger people attending church.

All glory to Jesus.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

QiongZhong Church Building Project
QiongZhong Church is located in the mountainous region of central Hainan, where majority of its inhabitants are from the Li minority tribe. Presently there are about 120 members worshipping at one of its member’s house. Though there is space constrains, with many having to sit at the passageway outside, it is fine with the members as they come eagerly every Sunday to worship God, whether rain or shine. However, its very location poses a problem that requires urgent solution. What happen is that there is a secondary school situated just directly opposite the church. Despite having worshipped there for the past 3 years, the local governing authority has now suddenly asked them to vacate the premises and move their place of worship to another location. This is because under the country’s 3-self church constitution, no one is allowed to evangelize or theoretically influence anyone under the age of 18. The authority reckon that the church’s very proximity to the school, provides them with ample opportunity to do so.

As they have been moving numerous times in the past years and with rental of premises for church use virtually non-existent, the church elders pulled their resources together and bought a piece of land nearby, intending to build their own permanent place of worship.

As most have already done their best in contributing toward the purchase of the land, they are now requesting for assistance in funding the construction of the church building itself.

The Church Building Project;

1.     1- storey with foundation require RMB 140,000 (S$28,000)

2. To go up to 2nd storey, will require an additional RMB 100,000 (S$20,000)
